For hikers and bikers alike, our natural Florida terrain teems with oceanside and lakeside trails as well as preserved woodlands and wildlife parks. Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy world-class fishing within just a 10-mile radius of our St. Lucie Inlet! And whether by power or sail, you can explore our scenic waterways, including coves, islands, Lake Okeechobee and the renowned Indian River Lagoon, whose unique tidal basin is home to dolphins, manatees, brown pelicans and other protected species. You can also horseback ride, bird watch or just relax at one of our many parks and beaches.

Allapattah Flats Trail  Go to map
Allapattah Flats Trail is a passive recreation area featuring parking facilities and a nature trail which provides opportunities for hiking, biking and primitive camping. This area also provide for seasonal hunting and will allow for equestrian trails along the northern perimeter of the project. This site is a cooperative effort of the Martin County Board of County Commissioners, the South Florida Water Management District and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Driving directions - From I-95: Take exit 110/CR 714 (Martin Hwy) and travel west approxmiately 3 miles. The entrance is located along the northern perimeter of the project.

Located on Indian Mound Drive in Indiantown, the 21-acre sight, which recently received more than $200,000 of renovations, offers five picnic pavilions with tables and grills that may be reserved for your event by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at 288-5690. Also included at the park are three baseball diamonds, one football field, a newly developed soccer field, a lighted basketball court and a shaded playground. The park is a great place to have a picnic or party. Restroom facilities are available and are located in the back of the park.

Spend a relaxing day at the DuPuis Management Area. It's not too far away...a place where you can walk in the woods, ride your bicycle, fish from a pier, sleep under the stars, picnic and even take your horse with you if you want.
