Water Activities & Fishing

Martin County reigns supreme for sport fishing and holds the distinctive title of "Sailfish Capital of the World." With the Gulf Stream just offshore, Martin County is a boating and fishing paradise. Boasting more than 20 marinas, a dozen fishing and sightseeing charters, plus a variety of bait and tackle shops, Martin County offers an abundance of boating and fishing excursions.

The natural resources of Martin County provide endless fishing and boating opportunities, complete with supplies and facilities for all sized boats under power or sail. A variety of sightseeing cruises are available for those looking to explore the waterways and abundant wildlife.

Fishing enthusiasts can pursue 800 species of fish within a 10-mile radius of our St. Lucie Inlet, which connects the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean. The close-in Gulf stream is a sport fishing dream, while surf fishing, river bridges and docks make fishing accessible to everyone.
